Overlooking the hillsides of Castillon-la-Bataille, famous for the 1453 battle that marked the end of the Hundred Years’ War, the château spans 112 hectares of vineyards, meadows and woodland, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. The vineyard, planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, benefits from an optimal planting density (3,500 to 5,000 vines per hectare) and an average vine age of 30 years. The winery, dating from 1863 and listed on the ISMH, is organised over two levels for gravity-fed processing, featuring temperature-controlled concrete vats (45hl to 300hl) and six 150hl stainless steel vats.
